in the Parish of Sturry with Fordwich and Westbere with Hersden

At the end of term, members of Sturry church joined with some of Sturry Primary School staff to organise a Christingle service. Christingles were made by Year 6 children.

During December many people filled in a card to decorate a Christmas tree in memory of someone. The money raised was sent to SAMS (South American Mission Society). Sturry United Church have links with SAMS, and in particular with the Wichi speaking people of Northern Argentina.

The photos above show some of the Christmas trees produced by various groups within Sturry. Father Christmas is also visible. There are plans for a Sturry Christmas Tree Festival in December 2006.

Prayer workshop on Saturday 5th November with groups looking at creative prayer, praying with music, praying with icons and praying through meditation.
This was a superb morning enjoyed by around 40 people of all ages. The workshops were all led by members of Sturry United Church and msot enjoyed experimenting with new ways of praying.

During the summer term in 2005 the weather was so warm, Jammers was held outside.

The end of February and beginning of March produced the largest snowfall in East Kent for many years.


On 6th February, Sturry Primary School and Sturry Church jointly organised a Sunday lunch, held at Sturry Primary School.


On 5th February, a large number of people from near Sturry came to a Bring and Share Tea at Sturry church to thank Jean and Philip Craft for all their hard work within the Parish over a large number of years.
We wish them well in their new home in Hampshire.
During the first half of the Spring Term, JAMMERS, the afterschool club at Sturry Primary School was for Infants. Over 30 children enjoyed learning about God and having fun.
