Junior Church: Sundays during Morning Worship at Sturry church.

Junior Church meets in the lower room at the back of Sturry church during the middle and end of the morning service. It is for toddlers who do not wish to stay reasonably quiet next to their parents (!), and children too young to go to Sunday Jammers. A parent (or carer) must be present in church. We have worship, prayer and a Bible story plus craft or toys. We join the congregation to help take our collection up to the front.

Junior Church is designed for babies, toddlers and pre-school children.

Sunday Jammers (ages 4-11): Sundays at 9:30am during term-time.

Sunday Jammers meet each Sunday in Sturry church at 9:30am. For the Family Service and All-age services, Sunday Jammers remain in church. On other Sundays during term-time, after the children's part at the beginning of the servive we go across to the Sturry Social Centre for fun, games, discussion and worship.

Sunday Jammers is for children who have started school (ages 4-10). At the lower age group we expect children to have started school (reception).

Year 6 children are often allowed up to the older Seekers group aged 10.

Year 6 children aged 10 are also welcome - but year 5's must wait!

The aim is to have fun exploring what God means for us, through craft, drama, visits and music. We meet in church at 9:30am; during Family services and All-age communions we help with part of the service or with the refeshments; for other services we meet in the upper tower room for the middle and end part of the service.

See the Seekers Photo Gallery for photos of our visit to Canterbury Cathedral.

Other recent projects include filming and producing a video - Shoes for Jesus that was shown during the Family Gift Service.

Jammers started as a Christian after-school club at Sturry Primary school run by members of Sturry church for Sturry Primary school children. It now meets on Tuesday afternoons, 3:15-4:15pm in the school on terms 1,3 and 5. For different year groups each term.

Jammers then expanded to Hersden primary school, meeting during lunchtime on Wednesdays. This club is for Juniors and usually runs in terms 2, 4 and 6.

What does Jammers stand for? Jammers reminds us that Jesus Accepts Me, however old I am, however clever I am and however good I am.

There is a mixture of games, music, fun and videos. For more photos and information on what happens at Jammers, visit our photo-gallery .

Jammers celebrated its 5th Birthday in January 2006. Over 250 children at Sturry and Hersden Primary school have attended in the last 5 years.
