A small group from the parish went to Spring Harvest at Skegness just before Easter - and had a really great time. We had planned to take a much larger group in 2002, but have been unable to get any accommodation. We'll try again in 2003.

This project has created a new soundproofed room for children's work, with storage areas for children's work and a large sink unit for flower arranging. Above this is a new upper meeting room and choir gallery. Access to the bell ringing chamber has also been improved. The entrance to the church under the tower has been modified for disabled access.

Sturry and Fordwich churches were at high risk of flooding when the River Stour was put on severe red flood alert, and was expected to flood much of lower Sturry and Fordwich. Fordwich church was sandbagged, and in Sturry all the chairs were moved into the higher chancel as water started seeping up through the floor tiles. Luckily the water stopped rising within 1
1 " of the south door of Sturry church and only a few puddles appeared from under the tiles. The Milner Memorial ground was completely submerged.
The Church Holiday Club held in Sturry Social Centre for one week during the summer holidays was much enjoyed by all the children and adults who took part. The week was led by Captain Graham Nunn, the diocesan Children's Missioner, and assisted by a number of adults and teenagers from the Parish. Each day's programme included action songs, games, an episode of the Storykeepers video, a craft activity and short prayers.
To celebrate the Millenium, there was a Parish Flower Festival in Sturry church from 9-11th June 2000.
