Events in 2007 at Sturry Church
On the 16th December 9 members of Sturry and District United Church were confirmed as full members of both the Anglican and Methodist Churches. The service was led by The Right Revd. Michael Turnbull, Assistant Bishop in the Diocese of Canterbury, the Revd. Peter Neatham, Assistant Chair of the South East District of The Methodist Church and the Revd. Peter Cornish, Rector of Sturry and District United Church.
Following the service we all enjoyed cake and other refreshments.
Sunday Jammers performed a Nativity play during this year's Gift Service, including favourite traditional school carols.

And the costumes returning home....
In Sturry and District United Church, confirmation and reception into full membership of the church occurs after the age of 12. We welcome younger members of the church to share in the Holy Communion before they are confirmed, and after a short series of three short meetings to think about Jesus and about the sacrament we welcome them at a special celebratory all-age service of Holy Communion.

The photos below say it all... Except for the impressive thunderstorm during the night (we were camping under canvas).
After the morning service on 20th May 2007, the Seekers and Super Seekers raised money for Christian Aid by selling cakes, selling cards, organising a raffle and a Copper Trail.
The copper trail started from the church porch and gradually extended the full length of the churchyard. Donations from kind neighbours enabled the Seekers copper trail to reach the entrance to the churchyard. More photos on the Christian Aid page.
Good Friday Holiday Club - April 2007
This was a one-day holiday club run by members of Sturry church for children aged 4-11 on the morning of Good Friday. It included songs, games, craft, and a Blockbusters style quiz.
